Atsushi Koyama
For Atsushi Koyama drawing is a process of transformation, not an expression of a result. In the focus of his attention to a motif the drawing becomes the visualization of this process.
The search for traces of the representational can be found in the overlying lines. It remains an expression of search for form that the observer is called to read. In this sense Atsushi Koyama sees art independent from the motif and thus his drawings as a form of communication taking place in the eyes of the observer.

Kazuki Akiyoshi

The works of Kazuki Akiyoshi consist of electronic parts and circuits. He uses these means in order to deepen the perception of the own situating and the physical sensation.
Spatial perception is being affected by his installations. This contributes to a re-presentation of space and time and creates an awareness for the own sentience. Kazuke Akiyoshi sees his works as a sensible way of illustrating the connectedness of human beings to their environment.

Junya Koike

A charge of connotations, manifold ways of interpretation and a good sense of humor are the cutlery with which the beholder can swallow up Junya Koike’s works. The ingredients of his pictures are Japanese script signs (Kanji) and the depiction of vegetables.
A word in Kanji is illustrated by a sign. Junya Koike presents the signs by a certain choice of vegetables (e.g. of the same season or origin) and thus creates additional variants of interpretation.
Form and content seem to never satisfy their appetite: Signifier and meaning charge each other and generate endless interpretations; however they do not disclose answers. Hence it is not astonishing that Koike’s works resemble rebuses.

Syuta

Art is more than a part of a society. It takes place in the midst of the latter and is produced by it: Syuta’s bus camera project, his mobile bicycle museum and his workshops create places of communication. He addresses social aspects like health or environment and involves the visitors in his work. With light, shadow and sounds he supports his intention to sensitize the people for their surroundings.
